The international field of performing arts is undergoing change both due to the Covid-19 pandemic and the climate emergency. On the Lookout is a series of online talks for all dance and circus artists and producers interested in the topic.
On Wednesday 20.1. we connect Finland and Norway. Guest speakers Erik Söderblom (Espoo City Theatre) and Anders Beyer (Bergen International Festival) share their thoughts in the midst of the Covid-19 crisis. What kind of activities are planned for the upcoming years and with which preconditions? How is the connection between artists and programmers kept alive? How does the future of international work look like from the point of view of Nordic festivals and theatres – will Nordic collaboration increase?

The event will be in English and is organised by CircusInfo Finland and Dance Info Finland together with PAHN Performing Arts Hub Norway. The moderators are Katarina Lindholm, Lotta Nevalainen and Geir Lindahl.
Erik Söderblom is the Director of Espoo City Theatre, the International Theatre of Finland. He is theatre director by profession and has previously been the Director of Helsinki Festival, professor and vice principal in the Theatre Academy in Helsinki, and served in the artistic leadership of Tampere International Theatre Festival. He is also a founding member of Baltic Circle International Theatre Festival.
Anders Beyer is the CEO & Artistic Director of Bergen International Festival. Beyer’s career embraces artistic leadership within all art forms. He has a solid record as a commissioner of new music, theatre and dance projects, and of developing major programming initiatives in collaboration with a number of the world’s leading artists, performing groups and arts centres.
